Tonics prepared at home are very useful and effective, since the composition contains natural ingredients without chemical additives and preservatives.

With the help of such a tonic, you can cleanse the face from impurities, remove excess sebum, reduce enlarged pores and improve metabolic processes in the cells. Home tonic, if properly prepared, does not cause irritation and allergic reactions, because the ingredients selected in it will be suitable for your skin type.

Rules for preparing tonics at home

Let’s start with a few rules, which should be followed regardless of the choice of toning composition:

  1. Use plain water (distilled, pure, mineral) as the base of the tonic. Alcohol tonics can cause irritation and dryness of the skin, especially sensitive skin.
  2. For oily skin, it is better to choose ingredients that have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. For dry skin, use oils that moisturize and nourish the skin.
  3. It is recommended to mix the tonic ingredients in a glass or porcelain vessel.
  4. The ingredients should be ground as finely as possible. This way, more useful substances and trace elements will get into the tonic.
  5. Maintain the proportions when mixing the ingredients.
